Skepticism is not doubt, disbelief, or close-mindedness. It is not being negative about every new or controversial idea. Skepticism is a process of critical thinking, reason, and evidence to determine the validity of an hypothesis. It is a rational and an openminded process to find a conclusion that is supported by evidence. It is never used to justify a preconceived conclusion. It is never used to irrationally reject evidence based on a personal desire for only one conclusion.
There are some very important concepts in that definition:
